Hubb leads men's basketball with 17 points in loss to Adelphi

GARDEN CITY, New York - The American International College men's basketball team headed to Long Island and took on Adelphi University in a Northeast-10 Conference showdown on Saturday, December 4. The Yellow Jackets fell by a score of 78-69.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • The Panthers scored the first four points of the game but the Yellow Jackets answered with four of their own. Trailing 9-7, the Panthers took the lead and started to create some distance from the Yellow Jackets. They went on a 22-6 run over seven minutes.
  • The Yellow Jackets were able to get their deficit down to single digits and trailed 35-30 at the break.
  • AIC came out of the locker room as graduate Xion Golding hit a jumper and rookie Tyrae Washington also hit a jumper to make it a one-point game.
  • Graduate Jordan Vidal made a two-point shot with 14:33 on the clock to tie the game at 43.
  • The score was tied at 45 when the Panthers went on a 9-3 run and took the six-point lead. AIC brought it to within two when Peikrishvili hit a three with under nine minutes left in the game.
  • Trailing 66-60, sophomore Jalen Jordan finished with a dunk off a pass by Golding to make it a four-point game. On the next possession, rookie Carlos Hubb hit a shot from deep and made it 66-65.
  • Headed into the final minute of the game the Panthers led 69-65. Down the stretch, they went five-for-six from the line to take the game 78-69
