Hubb leads men's basketball in scoring in loss at Assumption

WORCESTER, Massachusetts - The American International College men's basketball team dropped a close game 92-84 at Assumption University on Saturday, January 15.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Four and a half minutes into the game neither team had the advantage as it was tied at 14. Graduate Jordan Vidal gave AIC the lead with a free throw at 15:05 before nailing two more two possessions later. Senior Shyheim Hicks hit a shot from downtown to give the Yellow Jackets the six-point lead.
• With just over 11 minutes left in the half, the Yellow Jackets started a 20-7 run, 12 of which came off the hand of rookie Carlos Hubb who hit four triples, as AIC led 42-25.
• The Greyhounds made a late push to cut their deficit to four, 51-47, at the halfway point.
• The Yellow Jackets led 58-57 with four minutes gone in the second half when newcomer Donovan Miller hit a jumper to spark a streak. The 12-3 run gave AIC the 70-60 with 12 minutes left the play.
• The home team started to chip away at their deficit at the tied the game five and a half minutes later. With 3:31 on the clock, Assumption took an eight-point advantage, their largest of the night.
• The Yellow Jackets cut that in half with 1:50 on the clock but the Greyhounds went six-of-six from the line while Vidal scored the Yellow Jackets' only points, a pair at the line.
