HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Robert Grasso put Felician on the board first, but Rusty Stone set up Hunter Terlik to tie the game at 7:52. Late in the first, AIC went on a run, opened by a Seamus Hayes man-up tally at 11:43 and followed by goals from Jason Vickery and Tyler Shrewsbury in the next 1:17 to take a 4-1 lead through one.
  • Hayes notched his second to open the scoring in the next stanza, and though the Golden Falcons hit the net twice in a 1:09 span in the middle of the period, Terlik was able to feed Andrew Boyer for a goal with 59 seconds remaining in the half to put AIC in the locker room with a 6-3 lead.
  • Felician closed the gap with three goals in the first 7:32 of the third period of play, but a goal by Stone between Grasso's pair kept AIC up 7-6 through 45 minutes.
  • The Golden Falcons tied the game at the 1:38 mark of the fourth, but Stone set up Orlandi at 7:45 to put AIC back ahead. The lead lasted until the final minute, when Filipe Correia hit the net to force overtime.
  • In the extra session, Correia struck again, winning the game at the 25-second mark.
