No. 9 Pace pushes past men's lacrosse

PLEASANTVILLE, New York - The American International College men's lacrosse team fell to ninth-ranked Pace University 19-3 in a Northeast-10 Conference matchup on Saturday, March 26.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Tim Cairo and Kyle Casey traded goals and assists for the Setters to open the game in the first six minutes. Two goals nine seconds apart just past the 10 minute mark, by Jake Veres and Maxwell Streety, pushed the hosts to a 4-0 lead after one.
  • Cairo scored just nine seconds into the second, and though AIC held the Setters off for the next five minutes, Pace ultimately went into halftime up 10-0.
  • Cairo started Pace off in the third as well, before a man-up goal by Stephen Stratton at 8:34 broke Pace's run. Rusty Stone would later hit the net for AIC between two Pace goals to bring the score to 13-2 at the final intermission.
  • Jason Vickery set Stone up for AIC's only goal of the fourth as the Setters took the game 19-3.


ON THE LEADERBOARD:

  • Stone now has 45 goals in his career, tying him for 10th all-time in AIC history.
  • Matt Desautels notched 45 from 1997-99, while Kevin Papineau hit the net 45 times from 2014-17.
