No. 16 Bentley gets past men's lacrosse

SPRINGFIELD, Massachusetts - The American International College men's lacrosse team battled hard until the end but fell 16-8 to No. 16 Bentley University in a Northeast-10 Conference matchup on Wednesday, April 6.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • The Falcons jumped out to a 6-1 lead in the first, with Luke Jaber notching the game's first two goals and adding an assist. Rusty Stone scored AIC's opening tally at 5:52 of the period.
  • AIC made some adjustments in the second and it paid off as the Yellow Jackets were able to keep Bentley off the board for the first half of the frame and Tyler Shrewsbury hit the net at 7:46. Bentley did ultimately notch three goals in the last stretch of the period, although Devon Walker also scored for AIC.
  • The Yellow Jackets continued to battle into the third, with Stone and Ben Hardcastle each scoring. The Falcons scored once in response, but then the game went nearly 10 minutes without a goal before Stone finished his hat trick at 12:04. After three, the Falcons led 12-6.
  • AIC started the fourth up a player and Hardcastle fed Terlik from behind the net just 11 seconds in to convert. The Falcons came back with two quick goals, and despite a Walker tally at 5:58, AIC could not close the gap, ultimately falling 16-8.
