Vickery's hat trick not enough for men's lacrosse at Dominican

HILLBURN, New York - The American International College men's lacrosse team fell 8-4 to Dominican College on Wednesday, March 8.

AIC is now 2-3 on the season.

The Yellow Jackets jumped out to an early lead on a pair of extra-man opportunities. Both goals came off of the stick of Jason Vickery, who was set up by Dylan Seymour. Vickery then capped an early hat trick with his third of the game at 12:47 thanks to a feed from Rusty Stone, giving AIC a 3-0 lead after one.

In the second, the Yellow Jackets added to the lead with a Devon Walker strike just shy of the midpoint of the frame.

The second half turned the other way as Dominican closed to within 4-3 in the third, and scored five in the fourth for the 8-4 win.

Hayden Gaudette made seven saves in the setback; AIC outshot Dominican 41-31, including a 23-15 advantage in chances on target.

AIC will look to rebound on Saturday, March 11 at 1:00 p.m. at home against Post University.
