SPRINGFIELD, Massachusetts - The American International College men's lacrosse team fell 13-6 to Post University on Saturday, March 11.
AIC is now 2-4 on the season.
Devon Walker opened the scoring for the Yellow Jackets just shy of the four-minute mark, but the Eagles took control of the opening frame with two goals to lead 2-1 after one.
AIC bounced back to start the second, as Walker set up Andrew Boyer to tie the game at the 3:22 mark, and then Gabe Zippin swiped a pass in the AIC end before dishing to Takari Johnson. Johnson ran length of the field and fired home his first collegiate goal at 6:06 to put AIC on top. Unfortunately for the Yellow Jackets, the Eagles countered quickly with a 4-0 run, and despite a Brian McGowan tally in the final nine seconds of the half, AIC trailed 6-4 at the break.
Post put the game out of reach in the third, scoring five times; Walker and McGowan scored again in the fourth, but the Eagles netted two as well to win 13-6.
Hayden Gaudette made 17 saves in the setback to fall to 2-4.
The Yellow Jackets return to action as part of a lacrosse doubleheader on Wednesday, March 15; the women play at 1:00 p.m. and the men at 4:00 p.m. against Felician University.
