Men's lacrosse drops matchup with No. 20 Bentley

WALTHAM, Massachusetts - The American International College men's lacrosse team fell 19-4 to No. 20 Bentley University on Wednesday, April 5.

AIC is now 2-8 overall with an 0-5 NE10 mark.

Bentley notched the only two goals of the tightly-contested first quarter, but took a penalty at the very end. AIC ultimately drew a second penalty during the first extra-man opportunity, and Sal Amaral converted that one at 1:09. However, the Falcons drew a series of penalties of their own and converted three times as part of a 6-0 run over the final 10:14 of the half, and led 8-1 at the break.

The hosts continued the run into the second half, scoring three times in the opening 5:30, but AIC drew another penalty and Rusty Stone set up Jason Vickery in front for a strike. That started a trade of goals, which also featured AIC tallies by Hunter Terlik off of a feed from Brrian McGowan, and a goal from defender Sean Soper late in the frame.

The Falcons regained control from there, scoring five in the fourth for the 19-4 final.

Clark Marchand recorded a caused turnover in the game on defense, giving him 71 for his career, tying him for second-most in the history of both of AIC's lacrosse programs with Cheyenne Carden '15, whose 71 is the record for the women's team. Marchand now trails only his former teammate and three-year captain Eddie Beattie '21, who collected 94 across his career.

AIC returns to Abdow Field on Saturday, April 8 at 1:00 p.m. for its Senior Day game against Southern New Hampshire University.
