Stone, Marchand reach milestones for men's lacrosse against No. 1 Le Moyne

SPRINGFIELD, Massachusetts - The American International College men's lacrosse team fell 13-4 to No. 1 Le Moyne College in Northeast-10 Conference play on Friday, April 14.

AIC is now 2-11 overall and 0-8 in the NE10.

The Dolphins controlled the first quarter, taking a 7-0 lead. However, AIC battled hard, and opened the second on a quick run. Brian McGowan fired home AIC's first from the right side at the 2:36 mark, and less than a minute later, Dylan Seymour found Micaiah Boyle open for a strike.

The Dolphins bounced back with three, but AIC kept pushing, and Seymour found another open man for a historic moment, as Rusty Stone ripped home his 86th career goal at 10:19, becoming the fifth AIC men's lacrosse player to reach the 100-point plateau. He then notched another goal off of a feed from Devon Walker at 12:28, tying Aaron McNab '11 for the second-most goals in program history.

The Dolphins were able to keep AIC off the board in the second half, but were stymied themselves in large part, managing just three in the entire final 30 minutes of play as Hayden Gaudette piled up 22 saves.

On one of those stops, a fast-break opportunity by Olin Stanat, Clark Marchand grabbed the loose rebound, setting a new AIC record for ground balls in a career with 194; the previous mark of 193 was held by Michael Palmieri '16. Marchand also became the second Yellow Jacket to reach 75 caused turnovers, behind only Eddie Beattie '21 and his program-record 94.

AIC still has two games to play, and will head to Assumption University on Saturday, April 22 at 1:00 p.m. for its penultimate contest of the season.
