Assumption gets past men's lacrosse

WORCESTER, Massachusetts - The American International College men's lacrosse team fell 16-9 to Assumption University in Northeast-10 Conference play on Saturday, April 22.

AIC is now 2-12 overall and 0-9 in the NE10.

The Yellow Jackets jumped out to an early lead as Sal Amaral had a hat trick in the first 8:52, with a goal by Dylan Seymour as well. The Greyhounds struck back quickly for two, but AIC held the line for the last 5:30 of the frame to take a 4-3 lead into the first break.

The Hounds took control in the second, scoring two early goals to take a 5-4 edge. They then went on another run late, with five in a row to go up 10-4 at halftime. AIC scored the first goal out of the break, Amaral's fourth of the game, but Assumption notched another six to lead 16-5 after three.

AIC made a comeback push in the fourth, with Devon Walker setting up two goals by Avery Foye, and Jason Vickery and Anthony Boele each scoring, but it was too late as the Yellow Jackets fell 16-9.

Hayden Gaudette made 22 saves in the setback.

AIC closes the season Tuesday, April 25 at Saint Michael's College.
