Third-quarter surge pushes Saint Michael's past men's lacrosse

COLCHESTER, Vermont - The American International College men's lacrosse team dropped its season finale 17-10 at Saint Michael's College on Tuesday, April 25.

AIC ends the 2023 campaign at 2-13 with an 0-10 Northeast-10 Conference mark.

Saint Michael's scored early but AIC countered with two goals to take the lead less than five minutes in as Devon Walker struck and then set up Sal Amaral. The Purple Knights tied the game, only for Brian McGowan to hit the net with 44 seconds left in the first to send AIC to the quarter break up 3-2.

Two goals in 30 seconds early in the second frame flipped the lead, but AIC's defenses held from there, and Walker potted another goal down the stretch to level the score heading into halftime.

Walker found Hunter Terlik for a man-up goal to start the third, but the rest of the frame belonged to the Purple Knights, who scored nine of the next ten, with only a Vickery tally from McGowan breaking up the run.

The teams traded goals in the fourth; AIC's quartet came from Rusty Stone, McGowan, Andrew Boyer, and Walker, who finished his hat trick with the game's last goal.

Stone's tally broke his tie with former captain Aaron McNab '11 for second-place all-time in AIC's men's lacrosse history; he finished his career with 88 goals.
