Men's Lacrosse sets program record in rout at Davis & Elkins

ELKINS, West Virginia - The American International College men's lacrosse team put together an offensive clinic in a 25-8 victory over Davis & Elkins College on Monday, March 4.

AIC is now 3-0 to start the season for the first time in program history.

Seven Gillingham started the scoring with a goal and then set up Hunter Terlik for a tally. The Senators scored, but AIC closed the frame with Carter Linkletter and Dawson Long. Ryder Goodwin and Camden MacDonald assisted on those goals, respectively.

The second frame was more of the same. AIC scored five times, including two by Andrew Boyer, while Long, Linkletter, and Terlik each hit the twine again. Tyler Goode grabbed a pair of helpers in the quarter, which ended with AIC leading 9-2.

If the first half was the appetizer, the third quarter was the main course, and AIC's offense feasted to the tune of 11 goals. Jack Bamford started the eruption with the first of his three in the stanza, Boyer, Linkletter, and Goode all scored twice, and Terlik and Devon Walker scored as well. Walker also picked up a pair of helpers in the frame. AIC finished the quarter up 20-3.

With no pressure at all, AIC closed out with five more goals in the fourth. Callan Dent added his name to the list twice, alongside MacDonald, Ries Bower, and Long to finish it off with a 25-8 win.

Logan Dobrowski earned the win in his debut, making seven saves on nine shots in the start.

The 25 goals set a new program standard for scores in a contest against a Division II opponent; AIC's previous high-water mark was 21, on April 19, 1997 against Assumption.

AIC returns home Wednesday, March 6 at 7:00 p.m. against Post University.
