Men's Lacrosse drops rainy battle with Post

SPRINGFIELD, Massachusetts - The American International College men's lacrosse team suffered an 11-7 defeat to Post University on Wednesday, March 6.

AIC is now 3-1 on the season.

The Eagles took advantage of a penalty on the opening faceoff to score first, but AIC countered with quick goals by Micaiah Boyle and Jack Bamford to take a 2-1 lead. However, the Eagles scored four straight to end the quarter and take a 5-2 lead into the break.

Both offenses scored once in the second, with AIC's goal by Ries Bower; AIC scored first in the third as well, on a Dawson Long tally, but the Eagles struck twice in the final 3:21 to lead 8-4.

Post pulled away with two quick goals to start the fourth, and despite a pair by Carter Linkletter - including an impressive two-man-down solo effort - and a goal in the dying moments by Bower, the Eagles were able to hang on to win.

Shaden Shields made 11 saves in the setback.

AIC next plays Roberts Wesleyan University in Cortland, New York on Friday, March 8 at 4:00 p.m.
