Men's Soccer drops heartbreaker at Saint Anselm

MANCHESTER, New Hampshire - The American International College men's soccer team gave up a late goal to fall 3-2 to Saint Anselm College in Northeast-10 Conference play on Saturday, October 21.

AIC is now 2-5-7 overall and 2-3-2 in the NE10.

The Hawks jumped to a 2-0 lead in the first quarter hour as Samuel Assantha buried two different chances 4:11 apart.

AIC got on the comeback trail in the second half. Christian Amaral found Thom Hulshof free in front for a header on a corner for his first of the season at 67:27.

Just over five minutes later, Simba Pelletier cut right at the top of the box and fired a shot that slipped through David Hood for his third of the season, tying the game at 72:47.

With time winding down, Saint Anselm's final play won the game, as Assantha set up Caden Leader for a winning strike at 89:42.

AIC next plays at Southern Connecticut State on Wednesday, October 25.
