Track and Field opens 2023-24 at Fastrack Season Opener

STATEN ISLAND, New York - The American International College track and field teams competed at the Fastrack Season Opener at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island, New York, on Friday, December 1.

On the women's side, Monique Malcolm qualified for the 60-meter dash finals with a time of 8.06 seconds in the prelims; at 8.03 seconds in the finals, she finished sixth. Deborah Ofodile took sixth in the 60-meter hurdles, crossing the line in 9.73 seconds. Finally, Rebecca Toure was eighth in the weight throw, with a 11.90-meter mark on her third throw.

Michael Henderson finished eighth in the 500-meter dash on the men's side in 1:08.31. He was also the third leg of the 4x400-meter relay that finished ninth in 3:29.04, running with Silas Choge, Anthony Edokpa, and Tyler Safstrom.

The top showing of the day was Sadadine Adam; fresh off of an all-region cross country season, he took third in the 5000-meter run at 15:14.70. 

The teams next head to Northeastern University for the Joe Donahue Games on Friday, December 8.
