Track competes at Springfield College

SPRINGFIELD, Massachusetts - The American International College track and field teams both took fifth at the Springfield College Classic on Saturday, April 6.

For the women, Monique Malcolm dominated the sprints, finishing second in the 100-meter dash and winning the 200-meter dash. Yulive Peralta took sixth in the 200 as well to score for AIC. Grace Dervan grabbed seventh in the 400-meter dash, and Deborah Ofodile won the 100-meter hurdles. 

Rebecca Toure scored points in the hammer throw as well, with a 36.08-meter toss to take fifth.

On the men's side, Ayoub El Fahim was second in the 200-meter dash, while Michael Henderson and Silas Choge went 2-3 in the 400-meter dash. Joel Lisoma also snared a second-place finish in the 110-meter hurdles. 

Malachai O'Neal took fourth in the long jump, while ToRae Wright and Travis McAllister each scored by finishing third and fifth respectively in the triple jump. Troy Baxter scored a point each for the javelin and discus by finishing eighth, and Loudon Chupas was seventh in the javelin to round out the scoring.
