Harzula earns NE10 Softball All-Conference recognition

MANSFIELD, Massachusetts – The Northeast-10 Conference announced its 2023 All-Conference Softball teams on Wednesday, May 3. Among the selections was American International College's Brianna Harzula, who earned a Third-Team selection as a utility player.

A mainstay in the heart of the order, the junior batted .290 on the season, a career best, and led the team with a sparkling .418 on-base percentage across 42 games, earning 22 bases either by walk or being hit by pitch. That on-base percentage increased to .435 in NE10 play. 

Her offensive prowess forced the team to keep her in the lineup, but with her two most natural defensive positions – shortstop and second base – already filled, Harzula spent significant time as a corner outfielder, rotating back to the infield when needed. She was an effective defender regardless of position, completing 94 total chances with 75 putouts and 19 assists, including three double plays; she fielded at a .963 clip in conference.
