SPRINGFIELD, Massachusetts - The American International College women's basketball team fell 49-36 to the University of New Haven in a Northeast-10 Conference game on Saturday, February 12.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • The Yellow Jackets took a 4-0 lead early in the low-scoring first quarter. After the first frame, the Yellow Jackets led 10-8.
  • The Chargers dominated the second quarter as they went on a 13-2 run over the first 8:30 of the stanza. AIC made a late push to cut their deficit to five at the break.
  • In the third, the Chargers continued to lock down on defense as they held AIC to single digits and led 35-22 with 10 minutes to play.
  • Down 41-25 with 5:37 remaining graduate Destine Perry and rookie Nora Young hit back-to-back threes to bring it to an even 10-point deficit. It was not enough as the Chargers took the game by a score of 49-36.
