Women's Lacrosse drops senior night game against Saint Michael's

SPRINGFIELD, Massachusetts - The American International College women's lacrosse team fell 21-8 to Saint Michael's College on Saturday, April 6 in Northeast-10 Conference play.

AIC is now 1-6 with an 0-6 NE10 record.

The Purple Knights opened the game with three straight goals before Antontella Mikolyuk set up Jordyn Galgay for a tally; Saint Michael's ultimately led 7-2 after one despite a Gabrielle Walz free position goal.

Mikolyuk continued to make plays in the second, setting up Kathryn Moody and Caroline Colton for goals before scoring one of her own, and Jordyn Galgay hit the net late, but the Purple Knights scored another seven in the period to lead 14-6 at the break.

Walz scored twice more in the third, completing a hat trick, but the Purple Knights notched three in the third and four in the fourth for the 21-8 final.

Marissa Long made 18 saves in the setback.

AIC next heads to Southern Connecticut State University on Wednesday, April 10.
