Harvard sails past Women's Rugby

CAMBRIDGE, Massachusetts - A potent Harvard University side scored early and built its lead over the course of the match to defeat the American International College women's rugby team 65-0 in a NIRA nondivisional matchup on Friday, September 8.

AIC is 0-1 on the season.

By the 10-minute mark, the Crimson had punched in three tries, with two conversions for a 19-0 lead. It was at that point that AIC's defense adjusted, and held the Crimson scoreless for nearly 20 minutes before the hosts scored again. The Yellow Jackets found some success with their forwards, but came just short of the goal line before halftime, and trailed 36-0 at the break.

On the other side of the half, Harvard continued to add to its lead, scoring five more times with two conversions for the 65-0 final.

AIC is set to play its first NIRA Division II opponent, the University of New Haven, at home on Friday, September 15 at 6:30 p.m.
