Women's Soccer handles Saint Michael's to clinch postseason spot

COLCHESTER, Vermont - In arguably the biggest game of the season, the American International College women's soccer team delivered, locking up a playoff berth in the Northeast-10 Conference Championship Tournament with a 3-0 NE10 win at Saint Michael's College on Saturday, October 28.

AIC is now 7-5-1 overall and 4-5-1 in the NE10.

The Yellow Jackets struck first as Charlotte Bernard was able to find Rhiann Ryan on a rebound, and Ryan hit home her first of the season at 34:16.

Out of halftime, AIC doubled the lead, as Natasha Ferreira found Gabrielle Williams open to pick the corner for her third of the year at 49:20.

AIC put the game away late in the second half, as Bernard picked up her second assist of the day with a dish to Reese Carey. Carey ripped in her first of the season at 75:15.

Sara Avery was strong in goal, stopping four shots for her sixth shutout of her career.

AIC has one more game to play in the regular season, hosting Franklin Pierce University on Wednesday, November 1 at 7:00 p.m.
