Women's Tennis sweeps Saint Michael's

COLCHESTER, Vermont - The American International College women's tennis team swept Saint Michael's College 7-0 for its first team win of 2023.

The Yellow Jackets are now 1-2 overall and in Northeast-10 Conference play.

AIC earned the doubles point, taking all three matches. Natalija Vlacic and Katja Milicevic defeated Grace Saunders 6-2 at first doubles, while Victoria Azcona and Maria Cedeno won 6-0 over Emma Gredenhag and Emma Tagliaferro. Taisha Jones and Charlotte Tvelia defeated Emma Posada and Lyla Rouleau 6-3 to round out the first portion of the match.

AIC had just as much success at singles. Vlacic took down Gredenhag 6-3, 6-0, while Azcona defeated Tagliaferro 6-1, 6-0. Milicevic swept Saunders with a 6-0, 6-0 score, and Cedeno won over Molly Gannon 6-1, 6-1. Jones also swept Posada 6-0, 6-0, and Tvelia closed it out with a hard-fought 6-4, 6-4 victory over Jaylin Bedard.

AIC returns home on Tuesday, October 3 to face Bentley University at 4:00 p.m.
