SPRINGFIELD, Massachusetts – The American International College women's volleyball team cruised to a 25-12, 25-18, 25-17 win over Post University on Tuesday, October 24.

AIC is now 11-7 overall and remains 4-2 in Northeast-10 Conference play.

Post scored the match's first two points on an ace and a kill, but Aleksandra Ivanovic put AIC on the board with a kill to open a 6-0 run. The Yellow Jackets rolled from there, limiting the Eagles to a singular two-point run in the set and taking it 25-12. Paola Soto-Burgos and Ivanovic had the final two kills of the set for the win.

The second set was much closer; although the Yellow Jackets built to a lead of 18-11, the Eagles grabbed five of the next six points to get back in it before Ivanovic slammed down two kills to return AIC's edge to five. Kristina Peric put two of the final three points of the set away with kills, sandwiching an Alice Di Francesco ace for a 2-0 AIC lead.

Post grabbed a 5-3 lead in the early stages of the third, needing to win to stay alive, but AIC rebounded with two Soto Burgos kills and two Dora Butkovic aces to go back ahead. The Yellow Jackets continued to control the floor, and Ivanovic put down the last kill to close out the win.

Soto Burgos led AIC with 12 kills and 13 digs, with Ivanovic adding 10 kills along with seven digs and five blocks, and Amber Williams landing eight kills. Di Francesco passed out 27 assists and made eight digs. As a team, AIC hit .426, with 44 kills to four errors on 94 swings.

The Yellow Jackets resume NE10 action with two games on the weekend, with Saint Anselm College coming to Butova Gym on Friday, October 27 at 6:00 p.m. and Southern New Hampshire University the following day at 1:00 p.m.
