Selected Graduate Assistant (G.A.) will work in the Athletics Communications office to assist staff with day-to-day operations. G.A. will report directly to the Athletic Communications Coordinator.

American International College is a private, coeducational institution of higher education located on a 70+ acre campus in Springfield, Massachusetts. The campus has 42 buildings on two sites approximately 1/2 mile apart with a total of approximately 660,000 gross square feet. Included in the inventory of buildings are student residences for a resident population of 900 students. Founded in 1885, the College has 3700 graduate and undergraduate students. AIC offers a variety of undergraduate and graduate programs through the Schools of Business, Arts and Sciences; Health Sciences; and Education. American International College's varsity athletics programs primarily compete in NCAA Division II, as a charter member of the prestigious Northeast-10 Conference (NE10) for all sports that both the institution and conference sponsors, with the exception of men's ice hockey, which is a charter member of the NCAA Division I Atlantic Hockey Association (AHA). Additionally, AIC sponsors varsity men's volleyball and wrestling and women's rugby and triathlon.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Media coverage of assigned sports including pre-game and post-game write-ups
  • Production and editing of game day programs and promotions
  • Social media content creation and maintenance for assigned sports
  • Game-day communication tasks including web streaming, tracking in-game statistics, broadcasting, etc.
  • Archiving and maintaining current and historical records and statistics of teams
  • Supervision and task maintenance of student workers
  • Other projects and responsibilities as assigned by the Associate Athletic Director for Strategic Communications 

Qualifications:

  • Admittance into an AIC graduate program
    • Program must be: MBA, MEd, Public Health, Clinical Psych, General Psych or Forensic Psych
  • Completed undergraduate degree in a related field
  • Two-year commitment as a Graduate Assistant preferred
  • Candidate must be self-motivated and demonstrate strong organizational skills
  • Strong competency with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop and InDesign), Microsoft Office, statistics software (Stat Crew, Prestostats, and NCAA Live Stats) and other related software

Salary: Stipend plus tuition remission up to 18 credits per year at the current MBA rate.

Start Date: August 1
