Graduate Assistant Overview:

Selected Graduate Assistant (G.A.) will work in the athletics office helping to assist with day-to-day Compliance duties. G.A. will report directly to the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance.

American International College is a private, coeducational institution of higher education located on a 70+ acre campus in Springfield, Massachusetts. The campus has 42 buildings on two sites approximately 1/2 mile apart with a total of approximately 660,000 gross square feet. Included in the inventory of buildings are student residences for a resident population of 900 students. Founded in 1885, the College has 3700 graduate and undergraduate students. AIC offers a variety of undergraduate and graduate programs through the Schools of Business, Arts and Sciences; Health Sciences; and Education. The mission of the College is to transform student lives through career focused learning, with a strong foundation in the liberal arts, a commitment to serving the community, and a high level of involvement in the global economy. 

American International College's varsity athletics programs primarily compete in NCAA Division II, as a charter member of the prestigious Northeast-10 Conference (NE10) for all sports that both the institution and conference sponsors, with the exception of men's ice hockey, which is a charter member of the NCAA Division I Atlantic Hockey Association (AHA). Additionally, AIC sponsors varsity men's volleyball and wrestling and women's rugby and triathlon.

Responsibilities:

• Manage student athlete records in NCAA and compliance-based applications
• Assist with gathering information to submit NCAA waivers and transfer releases
• Monitor Practice and Recruiting Logs
• Gather information pertaining to retention
• Implement and educate on NCAA Bylaws
• Create compliance education workshops and monthly newsletters
• Collaborating with other members of the athletics staff
• Game management responsibilities when assigned by the internal operations staff
• Special projects and other responsibilities as assigned

Prerequisites:

• Admittance into an AIC graduate program
• Two-year commitment
• Candidate must be self-motivated, organized, and excellent communicator
• Strong competency with Microsoft Office Products
• Ability to work 20 hours per week

Salary: Stipend plus tuition remission up to 18 credits per year at the current MBA rate.

Start Date: August 1
