Selected Graduate Assistant (G.A.) will work in the Athletics Administrative office to assist with day-to-day internal operations & facilities management. G.A. will report directly to the Assistant Athletic Director for Internal Operations.

American International College is a private, coeducational institution of higher education located on a 70+ acre campus in Springfield, Massachusetts. The campus has 42 buildings on two sites approximately 1/2 mile apart with a total of approximately 660,000 gross square feet. Included in the inventory of buildings are student residences for a resident population of 900 students. Founded in 1885, the College has 3700 graduate and undergraduate students. AIC offers a variety of undergraduate and graduate programs through the Schools of Business, Arts and Sciences; Health Sciences; and Education. The mission of the College is to transform student lives through career focused learning, with a strong foundation in the liberal arts, a commitment to serving the community, and a high level of involvement in the global economy.

American International College's varsity athletics programs primarily compete in NCAA Division II, as a charter member of the prestigious Northeast-10 Conference (NE10) for all sports that both the institution and conference sponsors, with the exception of men's ice hockey, which is a charter member of the NCAA Division I Atlantic Hockey Association (AHA). Additionally, AIC sponsors varsity men's volleyball and wrestling and women's rugby and triathlon.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Assist and oversee the set-up and break down of internal and external athletic contests and events
  • Act as a game manager for assigned sports
  • Act as site supervisor for outside rentals
  • Create and distribute visiting team informational guides, communicate with visiting coaches and staff about arrival times and needs upon arrival
  • Set up visiting team locker rooms
  • Assist in supervision and scheduling of student workers for all events
  • Other projects and other responsibilities as assigned by the Assistant Athletic Director for Internal Operations

Qualifications:

  • Admittance into an AIC graduate program
    • Program must be: MBA, MEd, Public Health, Clinical Psych, General Psych or Forensic Psych.
  • Completed undergraduate degree in a related field
  • Two-year commitment as a Graduate Assistant preferred
  • Candidate must be self-motivated and demonstrate strong organizational skills
  • Strong competency with Microsoft Office Products (particularly Excel)

Salary: Stipend plus tuition remission up to 18 credits per year at the current MBA rate.
