SPRINGFIELD, Massachusetts - The American International College field hockey team fell 4-0 to Assumption University in Northeast-10 Conference play on Wednesday, October 4.
AIC is now 5-5 overall and 2-4 in the NE10.
Lily Daly took advantage of a turnover in the circle to score the game's first goal at 6:27. The Greyhounds had plenty of other chances, ultimately generating 14 shots in the first half alone, but Taylor Wildes was strong in the cage to keep it 1-0.
The Greyhounds finally broke through with two quick goals in the third quarter, as Mia Salah and Daly scored at 41:10 and 42:21.
Assumption drew a penalty stroke in the fourth, but Wildes denied Daly, getting her stick to the shot that was heading just inside the left post and deflecting it away.
Lauren Jacobs added a goal in the final minute for the 4-0 result.
Wildes had 11 total saves.
AIC returns to action Friday, October 6 at 4:00 p.m. at Molloy University.
