LAKEWOOD, New Jersey - The American International College men's soccer team fell 3-2 to Georgian Court University on Thursday, September 28.
AIC is now 2-2-5 on the season.
After a scoreless first half, both teams generated offensive success. The Lions took a 1-0 lead just 2:15 into the second on a Cherif Tammar goal and led 2-0 less than 11 minutes later when Joseph Ficarotta tallied.
The Yellow Jackets earned a penalty kick at 76:40, and Ali Taleb put it home for his second of the season, but two minutes later the Lions restored the two-goal edge. That proved decisive, as although Taleb scored another penalty goal at 83:02, the Yellow Jackets could not find a third.
Justus Wetzel absorbed the loss, making six saves.
AIC returns to action on Tuesday, October 3 against Queens.
