NEW HAVEN, Connecticut – A late goal by Manuel Schwarz led the American International College men's soccer team to a 1-1 draw with Southern Connecticut State University in Northeast-10 Conference play on Wednesday, October 25.
AIC is now 2-5-8 with a 2-3-3 NE10 record.
The Owls scored the lone first-half goal, as Zico Groenveld set up Yannick Hilpert at 38:06 to put the home team ahead 1-0.
The Yellow Jackets continued to battle, and it finally paid off late. Manuel Schwarz took a pass just outside the box from Gabriel Nissen and blasted it into the right corner of the net for his sixth of the year at 84:17, tying the game.
Justus Wetzel earned a draw in goal with four saves.
AIC returns home Saturday, October 28 at 4:00 p.m. to face Adelphi University.
