ERIE, Pennsylvania -- The American International College ice hockey team dropped a 4-1 Atlantic Hockey Association matchup at Mercyhurst University on Friday, January 20.
AIC drops to 12-10-5 overall and 9-6-2-1-1-0 in the AHA.
Mercyhurst struck twice late in the first period. Paul Maust opened the scoring at 16:27, and then the Lakers converted on a major penalty, with Gueorgui Fedulov scoring at 18:47.
In the second, AIC had several opportunities up a man, and the third one ended up in the net as Oscar Geschwind wn a draw to Luis Lindner, whose shot was tipped in by Alexander Malinowski for his sixth of the year at 12:42.
The Yellow Jackets generated a fantastic chance late in the period that was turned back by Tyler Harmon, and he made several more stellar saves in the third to keep Mercyhurst ahead.
