Bio

Jamie Marques ’01 has been elected to the American International College Athletics Hall of Fame.

A four-year starter on the men’s soccer team, Marques owns the AIC record book. He is first all-time in program history in goals, assists, and points, having rung up 43 tallies and 20 helpers for 106 points in 69 games, making him the only 100-point scorer in the program’s history. Of his goals, 11 served as game-winning markers, also the most in program history. His best season was 1999, where he had 14 goals and 10 assists for 38 points, the second-most goals and points in a season for the program and the most helpers in one campaign. His totals also rank highly in Northeast-10 Conference history – he is 11th in goals and points and one of just 13 100-point players among all NE10 institutions.

Along with the statistical success, Marques earned a number of accolades for his play. He was a three-time All-Northeast-10 selection, including First-Team All-Conference in 1998 and 1999. He garnered two All-New England selections and his 1999 campaign earned him the Ralph Earle Hines Memorial Award from the College as well as the team’s MVP award.

A knee injury cut short his professional playing career, but Marques has remained involved in the game, taking up a coaching position for a club soccer program. More importantly, he is a proud husband to his wife Amy and father of three children – Jordan, Carter, and Paxton.
