Quartet earn NE10 Academic All-Conference
MANSFIELD, Massachusetts – Four American International College student-athletes earned Northeast-10 Conference Academic All-Conference honors, the NE10 announced on Wednesday, January 24.
To qualify, a student-athlete must have started half or played in two-thirds of the team's games as a significant contributor and achieve a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30, and have been at their institution for at least two prior semesters.
Taylor Wildes of field hockey, Kendyl Vermette of women's cross country, and Aleksandra Ivanovic and Alice Di Francesco of women's volleyball were AIC's honorees.
Wildes, a criminal justice major, posted a 3.90 GPA as an undergraduate and has a 4.00 as a graduate student; she was an NFHCA Senior All-Star selection and started all 17 games in net for AIC this season. She also serves as AIC's Team IMPACT liaison and as athletic communications graduate assistant.
Vermette, a junior psychology major with a 3.80 GPA, was Third-Team All-Conference in cross country after a top-20 finish at the NE10 Championship.
Ivanovic, a junior marketing major who holds a 3.61 GPA, was named an AVCA All-American at middle blocker as she finished second in the nation with a .448 attack percentage and 227 total kills. She was additionally named CSC Academic All-District.
Di Francesco, who earned NE10 Second-Team All-Conference at setter, is a general business major with a 3.74 GPA. She led the NE10 in assists per set in conference play with 10.61.
