Bio

Timothy Susko was named Head Cross Country Coach at American International College on February 6, 2023.

Susko joined the Yellow Jackets from Colgate University, where he was assistant cross country and track and field coach. He worked with distance and middle-distance athletes, and under his tutelage, the team showed significant improvement, including a team-average time under 26:30 in 8K races, the first time in over a decade that the program reached that mark. Additionally, he recruited three athletes whom all broke 15:45 in the 5K.

In Susko's first full-time coaching job, he was the assistant cross country and track and field coach at Purdue Fort Wayne University and the program's recruiting coordinator. While there, he recruited across the United States and internationally and was part of over three dozen signings in one year. Six of his athletes broke school records. Before that, Susko was a graduate assistant coach at Saint Francis University from 2020-21. While there, he coached professional hurdler Deshaun Jackson and helped lead the women's team to the Northeast Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championship.  He was also part of a staff that earned the NEC's Coaching Staff of the Year Award.

As a student-athlete, Susko graduated from Iona College in 2020. While there, he was a part of three straight Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference cross-country titles. He also served as a student coach for the jumps squad, helping his teammates to break indoor and outdoor long jumps records that had stood at Iona for over two decades.
