Baseball splits with Saint Rose as Quinonez throws gem
SPRINGFIELD, Massachusetts – The American International College baseball team split a doubleheader against The College of Saint Rose on Monday, April 4.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Game 1:
- The Golden Knights scored in the top of the first to score their only run of the game.
- In the bottom of the second, the Yellow Jackets strung four hits together. It started when freshman Kiernan Caffery singled to left field with one out. After a strikeout, senior Dalton Quinn singled down the left field line. The throw in went to third, where Caffery was safe, and allowed Quinn to advance to second. Rookie Jonathan Haker came in clutch with a single up the middle to give AIC the 2-1 lead.
- Freshman Adrian Quionez threw the best game of his career as he allowed just four hits and one run in the game. After the first inning he gave up just three hits with no more than one hit in an inning, and retired each of the final six batters he faced.
Game 2:
- The Golden Knights came out swinging and score two runs on two hits in the first half inning.
- After adding a run in the fifth, the Golden Knights scored four runs in the seventh and four in the ninth to take the game 11-0.

- The Yellow Jackets will host Pace University on Saturday, April 9 and Sunday, April 10. The doubleheader on Saturday is scheduled to start at noon.
