Bio

Israel Abraham rejoined the AIC football coaching staff in February 2022 after spending the prior three seasons at The College of the Holy Cross. He brings extensive college coaching experience as well as NFL experience to AIC’s coaching staff, as well as a familiarity with the College from his stint from 2017-19.

Abraham has worked with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Los Angeles Chargers, and Tennessee Titans as a Bill Walsh Minority Intern; with the Titans in 2016 and Chargers in 2019 he worked as an assistant running backs coach, and with the Jaguars in 2022 he was an assistant tight ends coach. In his season with the Titans, Abraham helped Sylvester Croom train the running backs, and aided in the execution of special teams. He also charted the repetitions and series for each running back in pre-season games. Additionally, Abraham was an external scout for the Cleveland Browns. Abraham helped evaluate film and grade possible draft prospects at the quarterback, offensive line, tight ends, defensive back, and defensive line positions.

During his time at Holy Cross, he helped guide the Crusaders to back-to-back-to-back Patriot League championships and NCAA Football Championship Subdivision berths. During the Spring 2021 season, delayed from the fall of 2020 due to COVID-19, he helped develop junior running back Peter Oliver, who became an All-Patriot League selection. The 2019 Patriot League championship was the team’s first in 10 years, and just the third NCAA FCS berth in program history. He was also instrumental in the development of Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year Domenic Cozier that season.

During the 2015 season, Abraham was the running backs coach at Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania.  During his tenure, the running backs had no turnovers. He also assisted in the development of the offensive playbook, doing academic checks, and recruiting in New England.

Abraham spent three seasons between 2012-14 as the special teams coordinator and running back coach at Northeast-10 Conference opponent Stonehill College. During his time at Stonehill, Abraham coached three all-conference players and won an NE10 Conference championship in 2013.

Abraham is a 2012 graduate of Endicott College where he earned his bachelors in liberal studies with a minor in history. He was also a member of the football team as a cornerback and full back. While at Endicott, Abraham helped lead the Gulls to the 2010 Division III New England Football Conference championship and also an NCAA tournament appearance.
