Bio

Dan Chipka enters his third season with the AIC Yellow Jackets in 2024 and will mark his second season as the Offensive Coordinator and QB Coach after serving as the TE/FB and Slot WRs Coach in 2022.

In Chipka's first season coordinating AIC's offense, the Jackets featured a balanced attack producing significant improvement in many statistical categories, highlighted by increases in overall touchdowns scored, total rushing offense, rushing touchdowns, passing efficiency, and average yards per catch.

During Chipka's time at AIC, he has mentored three Jackets to all-conference honors: Sidiki Kone (RB), Dahvey Hicks (WR), and Marcus Thurston (FB).

Prior to Chipka’s arrival at AIC, he served as the Special Teams Coordinator and TE/FB Coach at Wingate University in North Carolina. During the 2021 season, the Wingate special teams ranked in the top-25 nationally in net punt (15th), blocked kicks (T-15th), and kick return (18th). That season, the Bulldogs were well represented in post-season honors as placekicker Mclean Robertson earned 1st Team All-American and punter Ethan Evans earned 1st Team All-Conference. During the 2023 NFL Draft, Evans was drafted in the 7th Round by the Los Angeles Rams.

Preceding Chipka’s jump into college football, he served as the head football coach at two high schools in Toledo, Ohio from 2014-2021. At both stops, Coach Chipka was able to achieve a significant turn-around, and rebuild those football programs both on and off the field. While the head coach at St. Francis de Sales, Chipka developed the Knights from an 0-10 team to consecutive winning seasons and playoff appearances for the first time in 17 seasons. During that stretch as the Knights' head coach, Chipka oversaw the breaking of five school records in four years.

Prior to SFS, Coach Chipka was named the head coach at Waite High School at the age of 24. In his first season, the Indians won a share of the Toledo City League Championship for the first time in 63 years. That year, Chipka was named AP Co-Coach of the Year presented by Alan Miller Jeweler and the Toledo Free Press. The following season, the Indians defeated the Bowsher Rebels in the Hall of Fame Game to earn their first winning season in 15 years.

Chipka graduated from Bluffton University (OH) where he started as a wide receiver for two seasons and was voted team captain during his senior season.

Chipka is married to his wife, Breelynn, and resides in Springfield.
