Four Yellow Jackets score double-digits in men's basketball win over Holy Family
PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania – The American International College men's basketball team rounded out their opening weekend against Holy Family University on Sunday, November 14. The Yellow Jackets used a jumper from graduate guard Jordan Vidal and a free throw by junior guard Walter Covington to take the game 66-64.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Tigers came out hot and scored the first six points of the game in the first minute. With a minute and a half elapsed freshman Donovan Miller nailed a deep ball to get things going for the Yellow Jackets.
- AIC trailed 13-5 five minutes in but they started to chip away as Vidal hit a layup with 9:24 on the clock to knot the game at 16.
- Trailing 28-7 with two minutes remaining in the first the Yellow Jackets trailed by one. On their next possession, they retook the lead on a layup by graduate forward Xion Golding. Rookie forward Tyrae Washington nailed a freebie with 36 seconds left to give AIC the 30-28 lead at the break.
- The two teams battled in the second half. The Tigers cut the Yellow Jacket lead to one, 63-62, with 2:57 left in the game. After forcing a missed shot on the other end, Holy Family took the lead on a pair of free throws by Manny Toha.
- Eighteen seconds later Vidal elevated and hit a jumper in the paint to give AIC the 65-64 lead. After a missed three by Holy Family, the Yellow Jackets committed a turnover and gave the ball back with 1:26 remaining.
- On the next Holy Family possession, Vidal blocked a three-point attempt and then the defense forced a turnover.
- With 17 seconds remaining, Covington was fouled and went to the line for a pair with a one-point lead. He missed the first but doubled the AIC lead on the second.
- The Tigers moved the ball up the court and called a timeout with 12 seconds on the clock. They had a shot with one second left but it was off the mark and AIC hung on to win 66-64.
