Men's basketball's late run falls short at St. Rose
ALBANY, New York - The American International College men's basketball team played their final regular-season road game on Monday, February 21 at The College of Saint Rose and fell 83-81 in Northeast-10 Conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Golden Knight took a 21-7 lead in the first six and a half minutes of the game. At the break, they led 54-34.
- With 15 minutes remaining the Yellow Jackets started to control the game. Over the next 11:44, AIC went on a 27-12 run with five players scoring. Junior Frankyn Batista had nine while classmate Tyrae Washington scored eight. Sophomore Jalen Jordan and graduate Xion Golding had four apiece while rookie Carlos Hubb had the other two. With 3:30 remaining the Yellow Jackets had cut their deficit to five at 76-71.
- St. Rose had used a quick run to extend their lead at 81-72. Batista hit a freebee with 1:40 left that Golding followed with a layup to make it a two-possession game.
- Under a minute was on the clock when senior Shyheim Hicks nailed a triple and made it a three-point game.
- Hicks stole the ball on the other end after St. Rose timeout and Batista finished the layup to make it a one-point game with 47 seconds left. The Golden Knights missed a free throw on the other end on the rebound Hicks was fouled. He stepped up to the stripe. Hicks missed the first but hit the second to tie the game. With two seconds left the Golden Knights drew a shooting foul and hit both shots to take the game 83-81.
