Men's lacrosse falls in strong effort against No. 6 Adelphi
SPRINGFIELD, Massachusetts - The American International College men's lacrosse team fought hard in a 19-6 setback against No. 6 Adelphi University to open Northeast-10 Conference play on Saturday, March 5.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- It was a defensive struggle early on, with Adelphi scoring first on a Nick O'Shea tally more than three minutes in. AIC tied the game on a Seamus Hayes shot from Sal Amaral at 6:30. The Panthers would ultimately score four times before the quarter ended to take a 5-1 lead.
- The visitors kept rolling in the second with three straight, but AIC fired back. Rusty Stone set up Jason Vickery at 5:45, then scored a goal of his own two minutes later. Shortly after, AIC cut the deficit to 8-4 as Amaral found Vincent Orlandi for a strike at 9:25. However, the Panthers scored three more before the half expired to lead 11-4 at the break.
- Adelphi took control in the third with six goals.
- Stone and Stephen Stratton scored for the Yellow Jackets in the final frame, the latter shorthanded, and Adelphi also notched two for the 19-6 final.
