HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Greyhounds jumped out to an early lead in the first minute, but the rest of the quarter was controlled by the Yellow Jackets as Jason Vickery and Rusty Stone each scored twice, with Sal Amaral and Tyler Shrewsbury assisting on the first of each pair to put the Yellow Jackets ahead 4-1 after one.
- The Greyhounds started hot again in the second with two goals in the first 1:30, but AIC finally countered on a brilliant play in the middle of the frame. Off of a save by Nick Mee, Anthony Boele scooped the ball and ran up the left side before firing a long pass to Stephen Stratton, who in turn found Amaral in front of the net. Amaral made a move to draw the goalkeeper out of position before scoring at 10:41. AIC ultimately led 5-4 at the break.
- Assumption once again scored right off the opening faceoff, tying the game early in the third. Vincent Orlandi restored the AIC lead on a breakout goal, but he Greyhounds scored the next three to lead 8-6 with 1:19 to play in the quarter. It seemed bleak for the Yellow Jackets, until Shrewsbury found Devon Walker open for a strike with just 14 seconds to play in the frame.
- Walker and Stone combined to tie the game at 8-8 with 11:23 to play, as Stone finished a chance to cap his hat trick. However, the Greyhounds netted the next goal to regain the lead, and never looked back as they won 14-8.
