Cribbin to take reins of Men's Volleyball
SPRINGFIELD, Massachusetts – Director of Volleyball Matthew Cribbin will assume the duties of head coach for the American International College men's volleyball team effective immediately through the end of the 2024 season, Director of Athletics Jessica Chapin announced on Thursday, March 21.
Hector Jose Reyes will continue to serve on the coaching staff as an assistant through the end of the season, when he will transition to a role on main campus.
A national search for the next head coach for the program will begin immediately.
Cribbin has been the Head Women's Volleyball Coach at AIC since 2012, and was promoted to Director of Volleyball in January 2021 when the College announced the addition of men's volleyball to its offerings. He holds a record of 214-135 overall, with six NCAA Tournament appearances including East Region Championships in 2016 and 2018, and Northeast-10 Conference titles in 2021 and 2022.
Under his tutelage, eight student-athletes have combined to earn 12 AVCA All-American honors, 22 AVCA All-Region selections, and 34 Northeast-10 All-Conference awards. He has been named NE10 Coach of the Year twice and AVCA East Region Coach of the Year twice.
Reyes, the first men's volleyball coach in program history, guided the team through its infancy in the first two-plus seasons. The team earned its first-ever conference victory as a member of the East Coast Conference on March 16, 2024 when the Yellow Jackets swept Roberts Wesleyan.
