WEST HAVEN, Connecticut - The American International College softball team lost a doubleheader to the New Haven Chargers in Northeast-10 conference play on Saturday, March 26.

GAME ONE:
- The Chargers opened up the scoring in the first inning when Nahtali Simpson scored an unearned run on a double by Jovanna Hillman. The next five innings were quiet for both teams until the Yellow Jackets pushed back and took the lead 2-1. Alexis Jimenez hit a single to center field to bring home Abigail Wells and Lilly Acampora as Destiny McGrath advanced to second.
- The Chargers were then able to take the game in the bottom of the seventh as Hailey Polisano hit a triple to left field where Mya case and Ashley Veisz were able to touch home plate to secure their victory, 3-2, over the Yellow Jackets.
GAME TWO:
- The Yellow Jackets second matchup of the game was not what they were hoping for after a close battle two hours before. The Chargers took charge of the scoring in the second inning when Frederick brought home Veisz and Hillman on a single to center field giving them a 2-0 lead early.
- New Haven sealed their victory in the third inning when they tallied seven runs for a final score of 10-0 over the Yellow Jackets.
