Triathlon earns fourth-straight CTCA Scholar-All American Team Award
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado – The American International College triathlon team earned Collegiate Triathlon Coaches Association Scholar All-American Team status, and three student-athletes earned Division II Scholar All-American Honorable Mention from the CTCA, the organization announced on Monday, January 22.
The CTCA awards Scholar All-American Team status to teams with a collective cumulative grade point average at or above 3.20; Scholar All-Americans are those individuals with at least a 3.50 GPA who finished within the top 20 in their respective division at the National Championship, and Scholar All-American Honorable Mention is awarded to those finishing outside the top 20 at Nationals with a 3.50 or better GPA.
AIC's three individual winners were Angelina Knowlton, Liz Winberg, and Lillie Kaempfe. Winberg is a three-time CTCA Scholar All-American Honorable Mention, having won in 2022 and 2021 as well, while Knowlton is a two-time winner after taking the honor in 2021.
The team-wide award is something the Yellow Jackets earn regularly; they have now taken the honor in each of the past four seasons.
