To earn Student-Athlete of the Year status, a student-athlete must post a 4.0 grade-point average for the year; All-Academic standards require at least 3.0 GPA in both semesters of the academic year.
"One of the pillars of our program is 'The Right Way.' Academic success is a key focus for us because at the end of the day the Xs and Os of hockey won't impact your life the way an education will. I'm proud of all of our guys who did the work and earned All-Academic honors, and especially of Josh, Alfred, and Peyton for taking Student-Athlete of the Year," said Head Coach Eric Lang.
Barnes, a sophomore, was honored for the second year in a row with the Student-Athlete of the Year Award, while Lindberg and Grainer, both freshmen, took the accolade for the first time. The trio of selections was tied for the most in the AHA with Robert Morris University.
AIC's 29 All-Academic Award winners was second-most in the AHA. Among the honorees, Brett Callahan graduates as a five-time selection, having earned the distinction in each season from 2019-20 to the most recent. He was joined by fellow graduate students Dustin Manz and Blake Wells.
Seniors Jordan Biro, Julius Janhonen, Brian Kramer, Darwin Lakoduk, Matt Rickard, and Nico Somerville all were named All-Academic, with the junior class represented by Oscar Geschwind, Cole Hudson, and Evan Stella.
