ROCHESTER, New York - The American International College ice hockey team fell 3-0 to the Rochester Institute of Technology in Atlantic Hockey America play on Friday, February 14.
AIC is now 10-18-1 overall and 8-13-0-0-0-2 in the AHA.
The first period was scoreless, despite a shot advantage for the hosts, with Chase Clark turning back 11 chances.
In the second, RIT scored in the waning moments, taking a 1-0 lead with 12.1 seconds left on a Christian Catalano tally.
From there, the Tigers held AIC off; Dimitri Mikrogiannakis doubled RIT's lead at 12:27, and while AIC drew a late penalty and pulled Clark for a sixth skater, Grady Hobbs was able to hit the empty net for the 3-0 result at 19:27.1.
Clark stopped 27 shots in the setback.
The two teams will face off again on Saturday, February 15; due to inclement weather in western New York, puck drop has been moved to 6:05 p.m.
