SPRINGFIELD, Massachusetts - The American International College ice hockey team played 60 scoreless minutes with The College of the Holy Cross on Friday, December 6, falling 1-0 in overtime to the Crusaders in Atlantic Hockey America action.
AIC is now 5-11-1 with a 4-7-0-0-0-2 AHA mark.
Regulation was entirely scoreless, as Chase Clark and Thomas Gale matched up to stop all of the chances. Holy Cross had a lengthy power play in the third, including a brief stint at 5-on-3, but Clark made seven stops shorthanded in that stretch. On the other end, Hunter Jones had a chance from point-blank range after a pass took a strange bounce off the end boards and came to him at the top of the blue paint, only for Gale to smother it with less than five minutes to play.
In the overtime, the Crusaders won it on a Jack Stockfish goal, as he batted in the rebound of a Matt DeBoer bid at 0:59.
The two teams will play their fourth and final regular season meeting of the 2024-25 season on Saturday, December 7 at 1:05 p.m.t
