Multiple athletes score in busy weekend for track and field
BOSTON, Massachusetts - The American International College track and field team competed at both The Reggie Open and the John Thomas Terrier Classic over the weekend of January 31-February 1.
At The Reggie Open, AIC had top-ten finishes for both the men and the women. Joel Lisoma jumped 12.42 meters in the triple jump to finish fourth, while Kareem Jeffries-Hazard also took fourth in the weight throw with a long toss of 15.76 meters. Fransiscah Cherotich topped the women's list by taking second in the 800-meter run in 2:30.96, while Serenity Mayhew and Rebecca Toure took sixth in the shot put and weight throw, respectively, at 10.11 meters and 11.97 meters.
At the John Thomas Terrier Classic, Ayoub El Fahim flew into third in the Northeast-10 Conference for the season in the 200-meter dash at 21.92 seconds, and was part of the 4x400-meter relay that also now sits third in the NE10 at 3:23.86. Alongside El Fahim, Mike Ricketts, Kevin Brady, and Justin Baker ran that race for the Yellow Jackets.
