Men's Rugby hammers Harvard, improves to 5-0
BOSTON, Massachusetts - The American International College men's rugby team poured on the offense in a 50-5 Liberty Rugby Conference drubbing of Harvard University on Saturday, October 5.
AIC is now 5-0 overall and in LRC competition.
Ariel Balsamo started the scoring 6:38 in with a try that German Rossi converted, and just over nine minutes later Izzic Cabrera put the ball down in Harvard's try zone for a 12-0 lead.
Late in the half, AIC busted out for two more scores. Mateo Carrazana tallied a try at 33:48, and Filimone Manu scored in stoppage time, with Rossi converting to end the half with a 24-0 AIC lead.
The Crimson scored the first try of the second half, but AIC dominated from there. Taivon Barker added his name to the scoresheet, and then Tyler Cathers took over with a hat trick in a 14-minute stretch. Rossi hit three conversions in that span, giving AIC the 50-5 final.
The Yellow Jackets return home on Sunday, October 13 at 1:00 p.m. for a showdown with Brown University. The Yellow Jackets and Bears both come into the matchup undefeated.
