SPRINGFIELD, Massachusetts - The American International College women's soccer team defeated the University of Maine-Fort Kent 3-0 on Wednesday, September 11.
AIC is now 3-0-0 on the season.
Alyssa Stetson started the scoring for AIC, taking a pass on the right side of the field and breaking in. Though her initial bid was thwarted, she was able to get to the rebound and jam it home for her first of the season at 32:36.
The Yellow Jackets broke the game open in the second half, with Leya Vohra beating a defender on the left side of the field before firing a perfect cross pass to the right side of the 18-yard box for Gabrielle Williams to drive to the cage and score her second of the year at 56:45.
Williams tacked on a second to close out the scoring, blasting home a bid at 71:15.
Sara Avery earned the win to improve to 2-0-0, though she faced no shots on goal in the opening 45:00; Morgan Wesson made her debut in the second half, but also did not make any saves.
AIC returns to play Saturday, September 14 at 1:00 p.m. against Holy Family University.
