BOSTON, Massachusetts - The American International College men's volleyball team dropped both halves of a tri-match at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, falling 20-25, 14-25, 21-25 to host MIT and 11-25, 17-25, 23-25 to Emmanuel College on Saturday, January 18.
AIC is now 1-2 on the season.
The Yellow Jackets put up a close fight against MIT in the first set, hitting .231, but the Engineers hit .429 on their way to taking the opening stanza. They then held AIC to -.077 in the second and hit .400 in the third to complete the sweep.
Emmanuel used strong, consistent offense to win, committing just one attack error in each of the first two sets. AIC battled hard in the third, forcing six errors and hitting .333, and pulled within 24-23 before ultimately falling.
Willie Lopez Morales led AIC's offense in both matches, with 10 and 14 kills, respectively, while Aidan Miller collected 34 total assists.
AIC returns to action Tuesday, January 21 at 7:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart University.
